Below is a chart of
the water bath temperature with a measurement taken every 15 seconds using an external 0.1 C resolution thermometer over a
one hour time frame. The Sous Vide At Home temperature controller was set to 60 C. The controller was connected to a
15 cup (6 Liter) rice cooker with the lid on.
The temperature within the bath
fluctuates between 59.7C and 61.1 C, however a vast majority of the time the temperature is within 1 C of the required
60 C.It is also important to note that the temperature only drops below 60 C for very short periods of time.
This level of temperature control is absolutely sufficient for all home sous vide cooking tasks. Please refer
to Douglas Baldwin's "A Practical Guide To Sous Vide Cooking" for a discussion on this issue.
The rice cooker was only swithched on by the Sous Vide At Home controller for
a total of 5 minutes during the one hour test.The significant reduction in cost both for the purchase of the unit and it reduced
electricity usage compared to a water circulators or commercial water baths that run 100% of the time makes the Sous
